My New Favorite Purse

I am a girly girl.  I like purses and shoes and have way too many of both.  My purses are always heavy and laden down with everything and anything a busy mom on the go could need.  My last purse ripped at the bottom from the weight of all I asked it to carry.

When I received the opportunity to review an Overland Equipment bag, I was a little wary.  I didn’t think that the style would be girly enough for me.  I was attracted to the durability of the product though.

Well, this pretty bag came in the mail a few weeks ago and I have been using it ever since.  I received the Special Edition Donner Bag, in orchid and navy.  I like the color combination and their is an attractive print in the inside pockets that I like as well.

The bag is VERY functional!  I fit everything, including my daytimer in the purse and it still doesn’t feel heavy.  The two pockets on the outside are perfect for a cell phone, water bottle, you name it, it fits.

The bag encourages organization with it’s front pocket that has a zipper compartment and pockets.

The strap is wide so it stays on my shoulder nicely.  I can also slip the strap over my head and wear the purse on my side when I am trying to wrangle Sweet Pea, groceries, etc. at the same time.

The one thing I would change about the bag is that the strap is doubled.  If I accidentally only grab one part instead of both, it lengthens and my purse hits the floor while I am holding the strap…maybe a clip of some kind could remedy this issue.

Overall, I LOVE the bag.  It came with a matching reusable shopping bag that I have been using as a trash bag in my car.  I love it because I have tossed it in the washer and dryer twice and it is holding up well.

Check out the different styles and colors available at Overland Equipment. Their bags are a good investment, especially if you are tired of digging at the bottom of your purse and want a good organizational purse!  Overland Equipment also offers laptop cases, accessories including wallets and backpacks!

I received a complimentary Overland bag for review as part of the Posh Parent Review Network.  All opinions expressed are mine alone.

A Day of Pampering for local ladies

On Saturday, June 12, 2010, some of the ladies of First Baptist Church, Martinsburg and their friends were treated to a day of pampering.  I was one of the lucky ladies who helped plan {just a small part of} the event and it was great fun.  Spending time relaxing, being pampered and laughing with friends is a great way to spend a day.

To make sure each lady left with their own special goodie bag, we partnered with Makeover Momma’s online shop to bring unique spa gifts and products to our party.  Guests left with swag from companies including Coco-Zen (their chocolate lotion is heavenly.  The scent is subtle but strong enough to make me want to lick my hands ;) , SEED (their lotions and other products are all natural and so silky smooth), PurWater Systems (we love their filtered water pitchers) and Banglz (these are awesome exercise products that you wear!  I love the fact that they come with changeable covers so you can choose your exercise equipments fashion day to day).

Ladies swooned over their rosebud earrings from Our Daily Chocolate and we even had the practical knowledge provided by The New Atkins for A New You book. There were just too many awesome products to mention.  You will have to check them all out here.

Just to make sure you see how much fun we had painting nails, soaking our feet, dipping our hands in paraffin wax and getting our eyebrows waxed, photos from our event are scattered throughout this post.  We had a beachy theme going and even had our own cabana boy (a church member’s very easy going son) to serve us our yummy snacks.  Church member, Bridget Covell, even shared a short message about beauty from the inside out and the importance of friendships.

It truly was a fun day!

What have you done lately to pamper yourself?
